Last weekend Marquette (MI) hosted their Annual Pumpkin Festival. At the staging area of the pumpkin race, contestants craved out hulls in five huge pumpkins. In the final stages of preparation the pumpkins were retrofitted with stabilizers to give the navigator an edge to bring home the win.
Crossing the finish line the crowd cheered the master captain who navigated her pumpkin across the finish line in an upright position. The spectators continued to cheer as two tenacious captains, who had refused to abandon ship, crossed the finish line partially submerged.
