Say It Ain’t So

Oh my god, I can’t believe it is happening.  Transitioning slowly, it didn’t immediately occur to me.  Until after dinner one evening I looked up at the trees overhead.  Where once a curtain of green foliage had obstructed the sky-view, now the outline of individual leaves were apparent.

Yes it was happening, summer had reached its peak.  In response to natures call, all that is green had diminished their leaf regeneration. Not only the trees, but the lush undergrowth had also answered the call. Once hidden beneath a sea of green, dead branches peaked out adding a new dimension to the blanket of green.

Spurred into picking up the pace, I have prioritized the outdoor projects that just have to be done before winter, and those that can wait until next spring.

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. This time it was in the form of a blog which gave me a place to hang out after I lost my job. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
