I Wish I May, I Wish I Might

Have the wish I wish tonight.  At Make-A-Wish we believe that wishes can come true! As Wish Grantors, we grant wishes to children who have life-threatening medical conditions. The Wish is all inclusive; the entire immediate family is granted an opportunity to exchange the all to familiar medical landscape for a Wishscape.

Symbolically the month of December is a time of hope and miracles. This week I had the privilege to be part of that miracle of hope by granting a wish.  On a Pacific island the Wish Child and her family will have the opportunity to exchange the intrusive world of medical intervention for a magical world of tropical fish.

For a time, our hope is the entire family can share happy memories that will help sustain them through future medical procedures.

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. This time it was in the form of a blog which gave me a place to hang out after I lost my job. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
