Having had success drinking Apple Cider Vinegar with mother for my GERD, blog entry In The Raw, I was open to trying Kombucha tea. (Update: overtime I have reduced my AVC intake from twice a day to only when I eat a late evening meal or spicy foods).
Kombucha tea is a very simple drink to prepare; tea, sugar, and mother aka SCOBY aka mushroom. Kombucha starter can be purchased from a health food store. I received mother for my first batch of tea from a friend who had recommended I try it. My tea of choice was lemon ginger.
The process for preparing Kombucha tea is not complicated, but as with any food preparation, know the process before preparing and drinking the tea.
