MC Touring – Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah

Standing on my front porch, I took in the serenity of the surrounding woods.  Sadly, I realized the summer riding season was drawing to an end. In a state of denial, this reality didn’t hit home until riding my bike; the windshield fogged, and my hands began to sting from the rushing cold air.

The brisk morning air cleared my mind as I got totally into the ride, our destination, the New Zoo (Suamico, WI).  Where we would have our first zip line adventure.  Nothing like taking a ride on the wild side to work up an appetite.  Being as it was my husbands birthday, dinner was on me. The look on his face was priceless when the one and a third pound burger, named the Duke, was plopped down in front of him.

Only one small incident marred an otherwise perfect day.  During the ride, an angry hitchhiking wasp stung my husband multiple times before he managed to return a deadly blow.

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. This time it was in the form of a blog which gave me a place to hang out after I lost my job. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
