Lock Out

Easy peasy = Insert key +turn key + lock deadbolt.  Until old man winter pays a visit, then all bets are off!

Rushing out the door, running late, I tried to lock the deadbolt.  It was a no go. Then adding insult to injury, I couldn’t get the key out!  Cupping my hands, blowing on the lock (and uttering a few choice expletives) I finally worked the key loose.

Back to square one.  Putting the hairdryer on high, I warmed the lock, then inserted the key.   It still wouldn’t turn. Alrighty then…there is more then one way to skin a cat!  Heat the key first, then insert it in the lock. Voila! Worked like a charm.  Applied Tri Flow Lubricant to free up the lock, and we were back in business!

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. This time it was in the form of a blog which gave me a place to hang out after I lost my job. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
