The House That Jack Built – Covering The Foundation Insulation

Kemlite Glasbord Installed

After pouring the foundation, the exterior surface was covered with a coating of tar, then 4 x 8 foot sheets of insulation were affixed to the tar to make the structure more energy efficient (insulation panel to the right of the gas line).

We covered the insulation panels with gray Kemlite Glasbord (panel installed to the left of the gas line).

A hammer-drill was used to bore holes into  the concrete, then rivets were driven into the holes to hold the panels in place.

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. This time it was in the form of a blog which gave me a place to hang out after I lost my job. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
