The House That Jack Built – Back Splash Installation

Installation of the Laminate Back Splash

Choosing a back splash can be to enhance the overall kitchen design or for more practical reasons.  In my case, a laminate back splash was the best choice  (creating hand crafted soap can be a messy business).

The socket and switch panel locations were carefully measured and marked on the laminate surface before installation.

Applying construction glue to the wall between the upper and lower cabinets, we prepared to install the laminate.

Drying overnight to insure the panel was securely in place, we proceeded to locate and tape around each box before cutting the opening (to minimize the risk of chipping the laminate).

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. This time it was in the form of a blog which gave me a place to hang out after I lost my job. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
