The House That Jack Built – Vinyl or Hardwood Flooring

Third Grade Maple T&G (Tongue and groove)

There are amazing vinyl floor options on the market today, and we did consider installing vinyl throughout the house.  But before making our final selection, we reconsidered the cost and installation requirements for both vinyl and hardwood flooring.  As chance would have it, we found a T&G (tongue and groove) hardwood flooring product, third grade maple, that was economical and complimented our hickory cabinets perfectly.

Choosing hardwood flooring  presents a conundrum, which way to lay the planking.  Run the board with the flow of traffic or across the joists, run the boards to the natural light source or with the length of the room.

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
