The House That Jack Built – Filling and Stripping

Pumper truck used to fill foundation forms with cement
Stripping the walls

Our site had limited accessibility. A pumper rig was brought in to fill the foundation forms.

At the back of the truck is a hopper were the cement was dumped.  Then the cement was pumped through the blue boom which was extended over the foundation forms.

As mentioned in a prior post we had modeling six feet down in our foundation excavation site so our basement will be  3.5 to 4 feet above ground.

We had to modify our original window scheme.  We exchanged the conventional basement window units for larger slide by units (plywood in the stripped wall is where one of the windows will be installed).

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. This time it was in the form of a blog which gave me a place to hang out after I lost my job. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
