MC Touring – On the Road Again

Windmill Under Construction

The day was perfect for riding.  Our destination, Little Chute, WI, a community that takes great pride in their Dutch heritage.  So much so, that the community raised the funds to purchase a windmill from the Netherlands. Even in the construction stage, the windmill is a site to behold.

The day had other delightful surprises along the way.   A picturesque reminder, that Sunday is a day of worship.  Getting back to basics, a country farm was hosting the Sunday worship service.  Amish buggies were lined up neatly in rows, the ponies were also grouped, and waited patiently for the service to conclude.

Bicycle chrome twinkled in the sunlight.  Some were left lying on the lawn, others lined up against the farm house. A visual reminder to all that motored by of how complicated we have made our lives, slaves to all we own.

Down in my basement, lined neatly on a shelf are handwritten notebooks chronicling my life. After years of writing, the experience became more of a burden then an important part of my day so I quit writing. Five years later I took up writing again. This time it was in the form of a blog which gave me a place to hang out after I lost my job. From there my blog content morphed into writing about my general contractor experience building our house. As my life experiences grew so did my blog.
